London and its mystical romantic

London is the heart and soul of the Great Britain, it is amazing and unusual, which is why it attracts thousands of tourists at all times. It is the oldest capital of Europe, so a huge number of different attractions are collected here.

For a comfortable trip, many tourists prefer to use car rental services in the UK. The average cost of renting a car in London is 20 euros per day, in Glasgow - 18 euros per day.

History of London

The history of this wonderful city has more than a century, and, unfortunately, knows many tragic moments. According to one interesting legend, this city was founded by Brutus of Troy and called it New Troy, but this theory has not been confirmed by the facts. Already according to archaeological excavations, scientists have concluded that the city was founded by the Romans in 40 AD. Initially, it was a very small settlement where the Romans lived, then they were replaced by the Anglo-Saxons. Only in the Middle Ages the city reached unprecedented heights, it was then that the first bridges across the Thames began to be built. But, unfortunately, the plague or, as it was also called, the black death and the subsequent World War II caused enormous damage to both the population and the cultural and historical heritage of the city.

Climate

We all know the famous myth that London is always cloudy and dank, but this is not at all the case. Precipitation here is much less than in our northern capital, St. Petersburg. The climate of the city is characterized by its mildness and moderation. The temperature here rarely drops below zero, and the snow, even if it falls, melts immediately. Winds from the Atlantic Ocean bring balance to the city's climate, with warm winters and cool summers.

Attractions

1. Big Ben. There is nothing more remarkable in London than the famous clock tower. The name of this attraction was in honor of the bell, which is located inside the tower. Its dimensions are really impressive, it is about 97 meters high and weighs about 13 tons. The tower is especially beautiful at night, when it is illuminated by four dials. All tourists who come to London dream of seeing this attraction, but, unfortunately, now its interior is closed to foreign tourists, so you can only admire it from afar.

2. London eye. Such a romantic name was given to one of the most unusual sights in London, the grandiose Ferris wheel, which is located on the banks of the Thames. Vacationers can view most of the city from the highest point of the wheel, which is located at the height of a 45-storey building.

3. Tower Bridge. The bridge is located in the very center of the city near the Tower of London and is both movable and hanging. The construction of the bridge began at the end of the 19th century and lasted for a very long time, about 6 years. This attraction is now one of the main symbols of the city.

London! You won't find a more soulful city on the whole planet. Everyone should visit this magnificent capital of Europe at least once in their life.
