Conditions for cancellation/modification of booking
You may cancel your order via a special form on the website. Standard cancellation conditions are as follows: free cancellation of order 24 hours before the start of booking. Upon cancellation less than 24 hours, the fine of 50 euros will be charged. After the date of receipt of a car, the order cannot be cancelled. If a customer does not arrive at the place for renting a car and does not inform cars-scanner.com about cancellation of the booking, 100% of the order value is withheld. Additionally, in some proposals, cancellation charges may be changed. Be sure to pay attention to the relevant clause in the rental terms.

Initially I booked a hire car from Gold Car for a holiday in Malta via Cars Scanner. My initial feedback is good: the website is clear, the price of the car hire from Gold Car beat all the opposition by miles. The telephone operator was always polite and helpful on the times I rang. The friction and unhappiness occurred post booking. 48 hours before our trip I realised I had misplaced the PIN number of the credit card. I rang both Gold Car (who were utterly useless and simply recommended taking out a vastly inflated insurance policy) and Cars Scanner who gave several sensible suggestions. Due to the dreadful experience of my communications with Gold Car I did not want to give them more money and agreed with Cars Scanner to move (at no extra charge - a kind concession) to Rhodium. My experience with Rhodium was the worst car hire experience in 30 years of hiring cars abroad (see separate review). My criticism of Cars Scanner is that they did not disclose that Gold Car and Rhodium are fundamentally the same company and it is improbable they did not know this given how easily I checked this upon our return plus when I completed the Cars Scanner feedback questionnaire I asked for someone to contact me and supply evidence to support a number of assertions made by staff at Rhodium regarding information I would have been given by them: to date no response from Cars Scanner.
