How can surprise Switzerland

Switzerland is one of the most interesting countries for tourists, but at the same time, most people know only some stereotypes or well-known information about it, and when foreigners find themselves in place, they are very surprised at even the simplest things.

Of course, you can’t fully learn about everything from the network, although travelers share their impressions, but people simply don’t look for some information, therefore, then only remains to be surprised.

Long before the trip, many tourists book a car in Switzerland online to get a favorable rental rate, see more attractions and not depend on tour groups. In Geneva, the cost of a compact class car starts from 15 euros per day, in Zurich the cost is about the same - from 14 euros per day.

What actually can surprise tourists:

• Fishing is a simple hobby for many, but here, in order to catch a fish, you need to get a special license and take training courses. The number of lessons can be different, but they teach a variety of things, from the correct putting on of the bait, to the careful removal of the catch (so that the fish do not suffer).

• Most are accustomed to the fact that urinals are installed exclusively for men, but in Switzerland in public places they are installed for women as well, which often puts tourists in a stupor.

• Curiously, there is a law in the country that protects doctors if they make a medical mistake. In such situations, even though the patient is in a serious condition, the doctor will have the opportunity to justify himself and continue to work calmly, without prejudice to his own reputation.

• It's interesting, but in order to get a local passport, you will need not only to wait for the appropriate period and live in the country for a certain time, but also to have good relations with your neighbors. The reason is that before obtaining an appropriate exam, in which a person not only talks about the country and so on, but also interviews his neighbors. If the relationship does not work out, then the person will not be given a passport, and they will have to wait another year, after which they will go through all the commissions and surveys (including neighbors) in a new way.

• The entire male population is liable for military service until the age of 55, moreover, every year there are mandatory three-week fees. The entire male population gathers for them, but most often it looks like an entertainment event, which is why the locals associate it with vacation.

• Instead of the usual water/coffee machines, you can find milk machines here. Anyone can use them, you only need to take a convenient container with you.

• As in Norway, here in the villages you can find separate places where local people store homemade products, and everyone can buy them. There is no seller here, and the money just falls into the box, as everyone trusts each other.

• Trains are one of the main modes of transport, so the schedule of their movement is planned perfectly, and all movements are as clear as possible. Accordingly, if you need to travel long distances around the country or just travel, trains will be a great way to easily and comfortably get to your destination.

There are quite a lot of similar local nuances, some would be nice to know in advance, and some are more interesting to learn on the spot, it’s just that at least morally the tourist is still advised to prepare for the unexpected.
