Buckingham Palace

The history of Buckingham Palace has more than 500 years, during which it was repeatedly completed and updated. But still, most of the current building has retained its original appearance, created back in 1700.

For a comfortable trip, many tourists prefer to use car rental services in the UK. The average cost of renting a car in London is 20 euros per day, in Liverpool - 18 euros per day.

Buckingham Palace is located in Westminster and is known worldwide as the home of the Queen of Great Britain. It is still used for state events, but is also open to the public. Today it is recognized as one of the most popular tourist attractions in the world.

Buckingham Palace has been the official residence of British monarchs in London since 1837, serving as the monarchy's administration headquarters. The royal residence consists of 775 rooms and halls, including nineteen state suites, which are often used by the royal family and visiting officials.

Many halls are open for inspection. Tourists are allowed to take pictures of the facade of the palace and the memorial of Queen Victoria.
In the morning, you can watch the famous Changing of the Guard ceremony, which takes place daily in summer and every other day in winter at exactly 11:30.
The tour includes:

• inspection of luxurious halls, decorated with paintings and priceless sculptures,
• a palace garden with 350 species of wild flowers,
• a nature reserve with at least 30 species of birds,
• exhibition of collections of masterpieces of Buckingham Palace,
• royal stables with horses and royal carriages,
• fleet of cars of the royal family.

In addition to its luxurious interiors, the palace is famous for the Royal Collection of valuable works of art, one of the most extensive in the world, which is open to tourists throughout the year. The exhibition presents paintings collected by more than one generation of monarchs. Here you will see masterpieces by Rembrandt, Rubens, Canaletto and other famous artists. The sculpture gallery of works by Italian masters presents the collection of King George IV.

Buckingham Palace is surrounded by ancient architectural monuments. Westminster Abbey and Cathedral, the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben are just a short walk away. And walking along the Thames embankment, you will see the main symbol of royal power - the Tower of London, where the famous Tower of the Crown Jewels is located.
A visit to all these attractions can be combined into one weekend excursion.
