Tours to Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany: interesting places and attractions of the city

In Western European countries, there are many magnificent ski resorts. Not everyone can afford to buy tickets there, because they are very expensive. However, despite this, the number of domestic tourists come to Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

Those who like to travel by car usually book their car in Germany online in advance. In Hamburg, renting a compact car will cost from 16 euros per day, and in Berlin a little more expensive - from 20 euros per day. Prices may vary depending on the season, car class and rental period.

Considered one of the most luxurious resorts on the Old Continent, this magnificent resort is located in the Bavarian Alps at the foot of Germany's highest mountain, the Zugspitze. It was founded in 1935, just before the Winter Olympics. Now its total area is approximately 206 square kilometers, and the population is about 26,000 people.

Those Russians who decide to go to Garmisch-Partenkirchen to master the ski slopes should first get visas. Their registration is carried out by the consulates of the Federal Republic of Germany, located in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kaliningrad, Yekaterinburg and Novosibirsk.

It should be borne in mind that their employees treat applicants with the pedantry and pickiness inherent in the representatives of the German nation, so the collection and execution of all required documents must be taken very seriously and responsibly.

After all visa formalities have been successfully settled, you need to consider the route that you will follow to Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Since the nearest German airport to it is located in Munich, you should explore the sites for booking air tickets in Frankfurt am Main and other cities of Germany and choose for yourself a convenient and inexpensive flight option to the Bavarian capital. From there, you can easily reach your final destination by bus, taxi or rental car.

Garmisch-Partenkirchen is divided into two large ski areas: Zugspitze and Garmisch-Classic. The first one contains the most difficult tracks, the total length of which is about 18 kilometers, and 10 modern lifts. The second is intended mainly for intermediate skiers and beginners, as well as snowboarders.

It should be noted that every tourist who comes to Garmisch-Partenkirchen pays the so-called resort tax in the amount of 2 euros for each day of stay. At the same time, he is issued a resort card, thanks to which he can ride local buses for free, as well as receive discounts on admission to many cultural institutions located in this resort.

Among them are the Olympic Sports Center, where you can work out on simulators, play volleyball or table tennis, a theater where performances of a local troupe regularly take place, an excellent indoor pool and several modern cinemas. In addition, there is a casino in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, as well as about a hundred cafes, restaurants and a huge number of inexpensive bistros.

You can go to this resort not only in winter, but also in summer. The fact is that not so long ago a large balneological center was opened in it, where you can take a course of medical and recreational procedures. In addition, the Zugspitze glaciers can be skied all year round.
